Questions and travel guidance

All your airport transfer questions answered (and if they’re not, please just ask!)

Here are some of the questions that we get asked the most about airport transfers and our other transport services. If you can’t find the answer to your question, please hit the contact button.

How do I know what time I will be collected?

We will send you a SMS the day before you travel at 18:00 CET with your pick-up time, your driver’s name and mobile phone number, and our office phone number. If you do not receive an SMS, please contact our office directly and we will send the information by email or another convenient means.

How do I find my driver at the airport?

When you come out of the baggage carousel area, you will find yourself in the arrival hall opposite the airport information desk. Your airport transfer driver will be waiting for you here, holding a welcome board with the Cham-Van logo and your name on it. The arrival hall may be very busy, if you do not find your driver straightaway, please do not go outside as your driver will be looking for you inside the building. You will have been sent your driver’s phone number by SMS, if you cannot get through it means that your driver is likely to be inside the airport building as reception there can be patchy, just stay in the arrival hall and you will find each other soon. Please make sure that you are in the Swiss (international) side of the airport!

What do I do if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

Please let us know as soon as you find out. We will reschedule your airport transfer according to your new arrival/departure time.

Is it possible to change my booking?

We try to offer as much flexibility as possible, please assist us in letting us know of any changes as soon as you know about them so that we can do our best to help you.

How long will my journey take?

Geneva airport to Chamonix typically takes about an hour and a quarter. We allow a minimum of 3 hours when travelling from Chamonix to Geneva airport to ensure that you get there in time to pass through security and find your gate. We review these times before each journey in accordance with traffic and weather conditions.

Do I need to bring my own child seat?

No, we have plenty of backwards facing and forwards facing child seats, as well as booster seats. We can provide these free of charge, as long as you let us know at time of booking.

Can my baby travel on my lap?

No, the law does not permit this for safety reasons. Please request a baby seat from us before you travel as you will not be allowed to ride in the vehicle otherwise.

Do I have to pay extra to bring my skis or bike?

No, we are happy to transport your sports equipment (and other items such as pushchairs) free of charge. However, we only take into account one item of luggage per person, so if you are bringing extra items such as skis, snowboards, bikes, etc please let us know so that we can ensure we have room in the van – we do not have roof boxes or trailers, so everything needs to go inside!
